As at 30 June 20251
Our Cash option’s primary objective remains to invest with a focus on maintaining liquidity and good credit quality and is expected to continue to deliver very stable returns at a margin above the Bloomberg AusBond Bank Bill Index. Our Cash option’s returns are derived from bank deposits and short-term money market securities.
We will continue to allocate a substantial portion of our Cash option to term deposits with approved deposit–taking institutions across a range of maturities up to one year, thus enhancing returns to members while ensuring reliable liquidity and flexibility to take advantage of opportunities that present good returns with low risk.
After the Reserve Bank unexpectedly left interest rates unchanged in early July, money market interest rates rose, providing us with an opportunity to lock in higher future returns for our members. Since then, the market has again repositioned itself to expect rate cuts over the remainder of 2025.
